The paper, "Thin but Nonkeratoconic Cornea: A Case Report" by the Institute for Vision Research at Yonsei University and EYEREUN EYE CLINIC(Dr. Si Yoon Park) was published in the Korean Journal of Ophthalmology (KJO).
Corneal thickness is still a very important factor in keratorefractive surgery.
In this study, we analyzed cases with a corneal thickness of less than 400 μm but with normal corneal topography and function without pathological changes.
Refractive surgery is not recommended for patients with extremely thin corneas due to the risk of developing keratoconus in the future.
Refractive surgery should be considered based on a thorough examination.
